The biennial Jugiong Art Exhibition is an important fundraising event for the Parish of Jugiong, supporting the ongoing maintenance and restoration efforts of the historic Jugiong Catholic Church.
Our 2024 Featured Artist is Liz Rowe
Liz Rowe is an Australian artist with 30 years of painting experience. Her art journey began when she joined The Victorian Art Society, where she enjoyed life drawing in charcoal. After experimenting with oils, she discovered watercolour, loving its expressive nature and the way the colours move and interact. Rowe aims to achieve light and transparency in her work and enjoys capturing still life, botanical, animal, and bird portraits, aiming to bring out the unique features of each species.
Residing in southern NSW on the land, Rowe spends as much time painting as farm life allows, finding inspiration in nature that surrounds her. Her recent works include painting watercolour on canvas, which is then sealed with an archival varnish.
